Sakellari Evanthia

Evanthia Sakellari is Associate Professor in Community Health with focus on mental health promotion in schools.

 

She has completed her postgraduate studies in Finland at the University of Kuopio (MSc) and the University of Turku (PhD). Evanthia Sakellari has worked in community mental health settings and public health settings. She has rich educational experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with the use of different pedagogical approaches, both in Greece and abroad.

Evanthia Sakellari is a member of the Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology where she leads the Special Academic Unit of Health Promotion. Her main research interests are the design, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive (mental) health promotion interventions which aim to improve the health of different population groups and to reduce health inequalities. She has significant research experience, including the scientific responsibility of Erasmus+ funded projects. Evanthia Sakellari collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health for the development and evaluation of health education interventions. She has published a number of articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters while she has presented her work at national and international conferences and other scientific events.
