LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Understand the history of Public Health and its impact on contemporary Public Health issues
  • Understand and analyze the basic concepts, values and practices in Public Health
  • Recognize and analyze contemporary issues and challenges in Public Health
  • Describe and analyze Public Health policies to protect and improve the health of populations.
    They interpret the impact of policies and legislation on individual and population health.
  • They apply scientifically based knowledge to Public Health issues and contribute to the development of modern understanding of Public Health
  • They apply research tools and analytical methods to critically analyze, monitor and evaluate the health status of populations.
  • Compare and contrast the Public Health challenges faced in different regions around the world and understand the different policies implemented to manage them.
