  • Study and analysis of the characteristics of a Public Health Crisis
  • The concept of danger – Risk factors
  • Rapid assessment and immediate response in emergency situations
  • Key facts and framework for the preparation of a National Action Plan of a Public Health Crisis.
  • Pandemics – management in National, European and International level.
  • Management of Large-Scale Industrial Accidents (SEVESO Safety Study)
  • Management of nutritional crisis
  • Climate change and management of environmental disasters
  • Humanitarians and NGO in Public Health Crisis management.

 

STUDENT EVALUATION

Evaluation in Greek language

Final assessment includes presentation/written essay. Students are asked to study during semester individually a past Public Health Crisis, to analyze the causes and the way of dealing with the crisis of the time, to evaluate the methods used and how the lessons from the specific crisis have being harnessed and used to further handling of a similar future crisis. For the evaluation of students, fullness of answer, clarity, the degree of critical thinking of the student and language proficiency are taken into consideration.
