The internship is crucial for the professional career of the future graduate as it provides him with the opportunity during his studies to:
- apply and consolidate the knowledge acquired
- broaden cognitive horizons
- deepen in cognitive objects, gaining additional knowledge through experiences
- expand future graduate’s skill set, by strengthening and restructuring skills
- become familiar with the work environment and its activities
- get to know better future graduate’s future workplace and its functions
- establish relationships with individuals and entities that future graduate will work with in the future, either when future graduate’s is hired, or when future graduate’s sets up their own office or their own business

CORSE CONTENT
The choice of institution, position and season in which the internship will take place, needs to be done on time, after good information and careful planning. The future graduate has more benefits when connecting internship with their professional goals and career plans, and avoids treating internship as a simple matter of fulfilling the requirements to get bachelor’s degree. The duration of the internship is 8 calendar weeks and the student is obliged to comply with the employer’s working hours, safety regulations as well as any regulation or regulation that applies to the employer’s staff.
During the internship the student is paid and insured according to the applicable provisions.
If the graduate is interested in finding employment in another European country or even pursuing postgraduate studies in another European country, they have the opportunities offered by European programs such as Leonardo da Vinci and Socrates-Erasmus.
The internship is considered a pre-entry career stage and has a special value. The internship of the students of Public Health direction is carried out in the Health Directorates of the Regional Units, in the Health Centers, in Hellenic Food Control Service (EFET), in the Health Services of Organizations, Municipalities and Communities, in hospitals, in large industrial units and private enterprises operating in the sectors of Occupational Health and Safety and Pests Control.
STUDENT EVALUATION
Evaluation in Greek language
The student fills out an internship notebook and delivers a summary report after completion of the internship training. This report is being evaluated. The final grade includes the grade of the supervisor designed from the employer and the grade of supervisor teacher.
