LEARNING OUTCOMES 

The course aims to let students know how research is conducted and the different ways of job searching. At the same time to explore and deepen in the professional profile of the Public Health Scientist and through it to discover their own position and perspective in the labor market. The reference to alternative professional directions through the degree is also valuable.

The objectives of this course are:

  • To provide directions and tools for conducting professional orientation research
  • To explain in detail all the current professional trends and perspectives.
  • To contribute to the creation of the appropriate experience so that students are able to distinguish and choose the most suitable between alternative career perspectives
  • To clarify in order to avoid misunderstandings, which often exist, regarding methods related to methods and job search techniques

 

The course aims to:

  • to assist students in their educational and professional choices,
  • to also support them in the effort for a course of lifelong development and, in particular, for life skills development.
  • to help them develop themselves and their skills in many directions, to relate their desires to reality, to organize their efforts and to plan their future by claiming their own space in the social reality.

 

GENERAL SKILLS

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Define and know where to seek for help and guidance regarding their profession.
  • Analyze the labor market and ask questions about the alternatives, the restrictions, the situation in relation to the competition,
  • Be significantly aware of alternative labor market penetration techniques,
  • The object of work (e.g. production of product, provision of services)
  • Working conditions (premises-equipment, work hours, fees, health and safety conditions, environmental impacts, interpersonal relationships)
  • The professional characteristics of the staff (knowledge, skills, formal qualifications, studies)
  • The perspectives of various jobs (financial and statistical data – especially of the school area, technological development).

STUDENT EVALUATION 

The evaluation language is Greek.

The evaluation of the theoretical part is done with a written examination at the end of the semester, which includes short development questions and multiple-choice questions.

For the successful completion of the theoretical part the grade of the examination should be at least five (5.0)
