LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course aims to familiarize students with the main methods and techniques of community advocacy and decision-making in health services. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary nature of the field. The course material covers a range of evidence-based decision-making and advocacy methods-tools with the aim of providing students with the necessary knowledge to help them participate in decision-making in health services.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student is able to:
- knows basic principles and concepts of the advocacy and decision-making process
- understands the decision-making process
- distinguish the differences of decision-making in organizations and at the individual level
- breaks down the decision-making process through the rational model into individual steps
- knows the types of decisions in health services
- recognizes the factors that facilitate or hinder the decision-making process
- chooses and implements the most appropriate approach to address the issue at hand
- participates in the decision-making process in health services
- advocates for individuals and vulnerable community populations within health services
