Perifanou Dimitra

Dr. Dimitra Perifanou is a Lecturer at the Department of Public and Community Health, Faculty of Public Health. She holds a Ph.D in the prevention of infectious diseases in people with autoimmune diseases from the University of Thessaly, School of Medicine. Additionally, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Promotion and Education from the Medical School of Athens, the Department of Psychology of Athens, and the T.E.I of Athens. Dr Perifanou is a member of the Research Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Department of Public and Community Health and Departmental Erasmus+ Coordinator.

Dr. Perifanou has experience teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She has also worked with the Ministry of Health to develop Health Education interventions and provided suggestions for training programs for civil servants included in the Training Institute (INEP).

Her research experience includes working on research protocols at KEELPO (Ministry of Health) and at the Hygiene and Epidemiology Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also participated in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships Program of the Department of Public and Community Health to develop Vaccination Competence-Educating Vaccination Competence (EDUVAC).

Her primary research interests include disease prevention in community and health promotion.
