The re-established two-year Postgraduate Programme of Studies (M.Sc.) “Health Promotion and Education” is organized in collaboration with the School of Medicine and the Department of Psychology of the University of Athens and leads to the award of a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Health Education. The MSc “Health Promotion and Education” has been operating since 2004.
Health promotion and health education are part of broader areas of knowledge and high priority areas of action worldwide, aiming at defending the health of citizens, improving all services and policies that determine health, reducing social inequalities and ultimately improving the quality of life of all population groups and communities.
The MSc “Health Promotion and Education” is a member of the European Network EUMAHP (European Masters in Health Promotion) and the formulation of the objectives, structure and content of the Programme is based on the principles and axes of the Network of collaborating European Universities. Since 2010 the MSc participates in the European project “Developing Competencies and Professional Standards for Health Promotion Capacity Building In Europe/COMPHP”, which aims to develop an accreditation system for Health Promotion education and practice in Europe (Pan-European Accreditation Framework for Health Promotion).
